China's first aircraft carrier was sighted going through a second sea trial in the Yellow Sea, Wednesday, according to a photo by Digital Globe. It was spotted in the south-east port of Dalian.
The carrier is a refitted former Soviet craft, and was launched this summer. It's part of China's long-term plan to launch a carrier force in the Asian Region.
Late November, China claimed it would conduct annual naval exercises.
There is growing concern over China's increased strength at sea, especially with territorial disputes happening frequently in energy-rich waters.
