Retired from Formula One, but always present in car racing competitions with models such 60 and 61, known as birdcage, Maserati in 1958 appeared on the market with the 3500 coach, bodied by Touring, which was recognized immediately a good sales success. The coupe was joined also by a spyder version, designed by Vignale. After Maserati 3500, in 1959 the 5000 GT was produced only in 34 copies. The next model was the Sebring, a big two plus two coupe, bodied by Vignale, the marketing of which began in 1962. It had a 6-cylinder 3,5 liters of displacement engine and was produced in 600 copies. At the Turin fair in 1963 Mistral was launched, a stylish sports coupe designed by Pietro Frua that began to be produced the following year. And the year after it was sold also in Spyder and coupe versions available with three different engines.
