Earthquake shakes up Lima.

7 years ago27 views

A family picks through what's left of their home.
The house was destroyed on Friday when a 6.9 magnitude shook southern Peru and its capital, Lima.
A man who lives in the house says he barely escaped the falling debris.
"All of a sudden, the earthquake struck and we were just able to get out of here. The house caved in completely. I have three relatives who are in the hospital."
Officials say there were no deaths as a result of the quake, though several people were injured.
The tremor brought back memories of 2007, when another earthquake in the region killed more than 500.
The Friday quake was centered under the sea 31 miles (50 km) southwest of the city of Ica.
