The most common fashion faux pas for women is dressing in a way that does not suit their figures. For instance, if you have short legs. you want to stay away from longer tops and pants that are cropped. You want to have a long straight line from your hips down to your ankles. Another fashion faux pas is not taking yourself into consideration when choosing your wardrobe. Too many women follow fashion blindly whether it works for them or not. Now, if you feel that you are wearing the clothes that are in style just because they are in style, but you do not feel good because you do not feel you look good, then it is time to do some soul searching. You want to create a personal style that reflects and respects who you are at this point in your life. Perhaps you are more of a classic girl than a Bohemian. That is absolutely fine, you have to trust your instincts. Another fashion faux pas I find women making is hodge podge styling. Unexpected combinations can work, but most frequently they do not. If you have opened a catalog recently and saw, say, fringy brown moccasins paired with a big chunky sparkly necklace and raised an eyebrow, well, you were right. Not everything goes together. You want to sometimes just stick to the same style and be tasteful, it is most important. So, another thing you want to look out for, as far as fashion faux pas go, is you want to stay away from your defaults. Take some chances with your fashion. I was just in Paris and I noticed that why Parisian women look so great is because they go out on a limb every little bit. Even if you are wearing all black, add some color to it with your accessories, with your shoes. Also, do not default to the jeans and t-shirt look. You know it is boring. Try adding a little spunk to it, maybe an interesting scarf or a blazer. Again, shoes are a great way to add personal style.
