Will Smith - Gettin jiggy with it

Willard Christopher Smith, Jr. ou Will Smith est un acteur et rappeur états-unien, né le 25 septembre 1968 à Philadelphie en Pennsylvanie.

Will Smith a commencé comme chanteur dans le duo de pop-rap qu'il formait avec DJ Jazzy Jeff. Il se surnommait alors the Fresh Prince. Leurs chansons étaient pleines d'humour et acceptables pour être diffusées sur les chaînes de radio, sans que les parents puissent néanmoins les comprendre.

En 1990, il joua le héros de la série comique Le Prince de Bel-Air (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) sur la chaîne de télévision NBC. La série se termina en 1996.

Il avait alors déjà entamé une carrière cinématographique avec le film Bad Boys. Il va la poursuivre en tournant, entre autres, dans plusieurs films à succès en nombre d'entrées : Men in Black, Independence Day, Ennemi d'État, La légende de Bagger Vance, Les Mystères de l'Ouest et Ali. Ses rôles sont petit à petit plus sombres et sérieux, même si l'acteur a du mal à se départir de son humour originel.

Le premier Men in Black lui permet de revenir à la chanson pour promouvoir le film.

Will Smith est marié à Jada Pinkett Smith, et a un fils nommé Willard Christopher « Trey » Smith, III. Il est propriétaire, avec son frère Harry Smith, de la société Treyball Development Inc, basée à Beverly Hills en Californie.
