A sessions court in Ahmedabad has granted bail to Gujarat IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt. The 1988-batch IPS officer who has alleged that Chief Minister Narendra Modi gave illegal orders to go slow on rioters at a law and order meeting on February 27, 2002, was arrested on September 30 for allegedly coercing a junior officer to back his claims. During the arguments over the bail hearing the public prosecutor had claimed that Bhatt had forced junior officer K D Panth to file a false affidavit.
