Student protests in the Colombian city of Cali take a tragic turn on Wednesday.
A 19-year old girl was killed when a home-made explosive device she was carrying blew up.
Students had taken to the streets across the country to demand free university education.

"We declare a permanent strike until the government pulls this law from Congress and guarantees a new higher education law which is why all of the students from public and private universities are marching."
Violence also blighted a rally in the Colombian capital, Bogota, where there were clashes with police.
Colombian students are echoing the actions of their Chilean counterparts, by going on strike to campaign for reforms that will allow free university education for all.
