LONDON - Women are strong and powerful and designer Antonio Berardi has been proving this for many seasons now. This time he used armor and tailored menswear-inspired looks to convey the concept. Except that they were played up against softer looks like embroidery against a metallic leather. Otherwise, he used trends that are common amongst the Spring/Summer 2012 collection set at both New York and London including color blocking, beading, those bustier gowns, and high collars for the menswear-inspired looks. Many of the dresses had sharp shoulders, but they were simultaneously embroidered with flowers to play up the soft-vs-hard vibe, just like those loose pink pants against that puffy red patent leather cropped jacket with big shoulders.
