Host: Bridget Daly @bridgedaly Hello everyone, you're back at ClevverMusic. I'm Bridget Daly. In the wake of Amy Winehouse's death, fellow singer MIA has released a tribute track dedicated to her. The eerie song entitled 27 talks about a friend who is addicted to drugs and eventually dies. MIA tweeted to her fans that she recorded the song to originally be on her new mixtape, but decided to put it out for Amy instead. It's pretty scary how pefect the lyrics are for the current situation. MIA sings, your friendship did mean something but you left me for nothing. 27 is of course the age Amy was when she was found dead in her London flat over the weekend, and she joins fellow talented artists Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain and Jimi hendrix who all died at that age as well. Amy's family has issued a statement saying, Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives." So sad.
