Bedroom Design and Decor - Tips and Ideas - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. My favorite room in the house, the bedroom. I am Robin Baron from Robin Baron Design and Simplifying Fabulous. Is not this bedroom fabulous? It is beautiful, it is luxurious and it is eco-friendly. This is from the Lewis Mittman collection that is all eco-friendly. It is made from sustainable woods, and all the products that are used in this bed are either sustainable or low VOC. On this bed, we have mixed materials. Wood, fabric, studs. I love the studs. I think that adds just that little bit of detail, because great design is in the detail. One of the things that I really love besides the four posters and the dramatic effect that it has, is I love that we paired it with mismatched tables on either side. That adds again, a very personal aspect to the room, but you can tie it together by using the same lamps on the tables. So it is a subtle thing, your eye does not pick up that everything different. It picks up that it is interesting, not different. It balances the room. For me, it is not about symmetry. It is about balance. This bench at the bottom of the bed also balances out the room. It adds texture, it adds a little bit of those details with the straps, and it gives you a place to sit down and take off your boots. The other thing to point out about the bed, again, it's about color and texture so being the color diva, I want to point out that the colors are monochromatic but the textures are different. I just love the way these thread fabrics come through on the pillows in a very subtle way, and the linear quilting on the bedspread. It adds for a subtle but very rich look. So rich, I am hanging out for a while.
