How to Make Kids Earrings - Beading - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. Here is how were going to make a basic kids earring out of beads. And First we have this tray which you can use. It just helps you do your design. And I like to use the straight side for an earring design. This is an example of what we will be making right here. Just this stick earring is what I like to call it. Kids would probably wear this to special event. I do not suggest wearing this to school or on the play ground because you do not want it to get caught on anything. So definitely somewhere like to church, or to some easter party or some special event, family event. First I pick a bunch of beads out of my bead bowel, I like to put them in the cubby so I can decide which beads I really want to use. Then I go to one of the straight lines since this is a straight stick. And I had done a design right here. This is what I am going to actually create. So I have these sticks, this is already created already. You can just buy these pre-made, they are called pinheads. I will just show you an example if you use one with a big hole, it falls off. Definitely make sure you use one that has a little hole. I am just going to bead this up, I ended up, the seam, the beads you can use for kids, my suggestion is light weight beads, plastic beads, something that is not going to be to heavy on them. Anything with fun shapes, just get fun with it because it does not matter what color or shape you use, it is just the matter of if you were going to like it in the end and your going want to wear it. So usually we will string up the stick. I like to keep at least a quarter inch on the top to turn the end on and hook it on. So, I have a little more then a quarter there so what I am going to do is take the wire cutters, and I am going to cut off the end. And leave about a quarter inch there. These are called round nose pliers, they basically use them to turn it into a circle, so, I am going to decide how big I want the hoop to be. I am going to grab the end and just turn it around like that. The next step is getting the earring hook. So here is the hook, there is a little opening right here where I am going to open it up, put the beaded creation on. So, I am taking my pliers and I am just opening it up enough to get this hooked in, I hooked it on. And now I am going to just kind of twist this back and there we have one side of the beaded earrings. So, you just do the same thing again. You can change up the design also. Then you have a pair of earrings. The second earring you do not have to have it symmetrical, you can if you want but we can also, you know, do something like this that is not symmetrical. Both of these have different flowers on them but they do balance out cause they have the same colors. So, there is really no rules to creating earrings. Just have fun with it. You can also create these hoop earrings, they are just as simple, same technique as laying out the beads that you want to use. They do not need to match. In this case these do. And basically this one has a little closure where you can get the beads on, then you just push the wire back in. So those are some ways to make some fun kids earrings, remember just have fun, play with color. There is no rules, just let the kids do what they want to create cause they will be proud to wear it.
