Italy awaits Knox verdict

Italians, Americans and international media await the verdict in Amanda Knox's murder conviction appeal.
An Italian court is expected to rule on the appeal Monday.
Here in Perugia, where the former study abroad student is serving a 26-year prison sentence, some say they've had enough of the spectacle.
(SOUNDBITE)(Italian) PERUGIA RESIDENT, CLAUDIO CARNIERI, SAYING:
"I think the girl is guilty but I think this trial has gone way beyond the usual process, between Europe and the United States, the imagination of the Italians, the imagination of the Americans. It is a case that many things are written on, many things that are way beyond truth."
Knox, her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, and a local bar owner were found guilty of stabbing British student Meredith Kercher to death in 2007.
The prosecution alleges Knox led the two men in sexual assault and murder in this house that she shared with Kercher.
But a forensics review cast doubt on DNA evidence used to convict her.
Knox's family has waged a public campaign on her behalf, backed by supporters who believe she's the victim of an incompetent justice system and aggressive prosecutor.
