LONDON - Christopher Kane says his Spring/Summer 2012 collection at London Fashion Week stems from the idea that he founded some photographs of girls with peeling walls behind them and how despite their grimy backgrounds, still made the pictures look lovely. He also said that the characters he was thinking of were the girls you hate in school, the ones who bully others as much as the boys do. They walked with a quiet, but powerful strength in shiny gold dresses and lame skirts with cable knit sweaters made of aluminum organza and Lurex yarn and etched with a sort of floral brocade applique. They came in a variety of color combinations. Finally, there were encrusted tops and flat sandals that made everything just a little more summery.
