Dozens of people have been killed in Tibet, India and Nepal after a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the China-India border on Sunday. In Tibet, the jolt was felt in most areas of Xigaze prefecture.
At least 45 people have been killed and dozens more injured, as jolts from a 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Sikkim, India shook the China-India border on Sunday.
At least seven people were killed in western Tibet, according to Chinese state media.
And at least 39 people were killed in the isolated Himalayan regions stretching across India, Nepal and Tibet, Indian police report.
Traffic links into western Tibet were damaged and one provincial highway and three county highways were cut off, Chinese state media reported.
Chinese state television CCTV broadcast images of damaged buildings in Xigaze prefecture's Yadong County and said that some of the damaged houses had collapsed.
The earthquake epicenter was less than 25 miles from the China-India border, and was felt in most areas of Xigaze prefecture, Tibet, CCTV reported.
