You just want to hold the clove on your work surface. Hold the knife like this, firmly, with the blunt edge pointing toward you and the sharp edge pointing down to the work surface. Then just give it a good whack with your hand, just like that. And it just peels right off, very easily, because that loosens the skin, and the skin just peels right off. If you find that there is still some skin that is not peeling easily, just give it another good whack. And there you go. It just comes right off, super easy.
