Some traffic police in China's northern Hebei Province got a bit of a shock recently.
They thought a minivan busing kids to school might be overloaded--and when they pulled it over they found that the eight-person-maximum vehicle was packed with sixty-six people. Sixty-four kids, and two adults.
The seats had been replaced with benches, and the kids were packed in tightly, to say the least.
State-run media reported that the driver was, quote, "punished according to related laws and regulations." It's not clear exactly what that means.
