A petrol fire burns in an open sewer flowing through a densely populated slum in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi.
Police say no official death count has yet been undertaken, but it's believed at least 61 - and possibly more people were burned to death.
The fire started after a fuel tank belonging to the Kenya Pipeline Company spilled petrol into an open sewer flowing through the slum.
Residents tried to scoop the fuel from the sewer, which burst into flame when someone tossed a cigarette into the ditch.
Firefighters struggled to contain the blaze, scrambling across the corrugated rooftops of burning shacks to pour foam onto petrol flowing down the slum's muddy alleyways.
Dozens of victims are being treated in hospital.
