The rebel council says it is offering an amnesty to any of Gaddafi's entourage who kill or capture him. Council chairman Mustafa Abdel Jalil also says a local businessman is offereing two million dinars (USD$1.3 million) to anyone who caught him.

Mustafa Abdel Jalil, head of the Transitional National Council, said on Wednesday he supported the offer by Libyan businessmen for a reward of two million Libyan dinars to anyone handing over Gaddafi "dead or alive."

He also offered amnesty to "members of (Gaddafi's) close circle who kill him or capture him".

[Mustafa Abdel Jalil, Transitional National Council Head]:
"Businessmen in Benghazi have set up an award of two million Libyan dinars for anyone who captures Gaddafi and from another hand, the National Transitional Council announces that anyone from his inner circle who kills Gaddafi or captures him, shall receive amnesty from the community."

[Mustafa Abdel Jalil, Transitional National Council Head]:
"Gaddafi has not requested a peaceful exit until this moment and we do not object to his departure after he announces his relinquishing of power and we do not object to his departure as long as any country will accept to take him because then it would fall under international law."
