Turai or ridge gourd is low in cals and carbs. Ingredients- 1 cup chana dal 250 gm turi[ridge gourd] 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 onion 1 tomato 1 tsp turmeric powder 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 1 green chilli 1 tsp garam masala 1/2 inch ginger 2 tbsp coriander powder Few coriander leaves 1 cup water 2 tbsp oil Salt to taste Preparation- Heat the oil. Add cumin seeds, onions, tomatoes and mix well. Add ginger, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala. Add dal, green chilli, salt, water, turi and cook well. Serve hot and garnish with coriander leaves.
