Avoiding Overeating - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. A big cause for overeating is eating mindlessly. What a lot of people do not realize is that by just overeating a couple hundred calories each day you can gain a pound a week. A couple hundred calories is the same as a handful of M&M’s or a few extra cookies. Another big cause for overeating is going to long between meals. If you wait more than four hours before eating your next meal, you might be so ravenous that you can quickly consume over 1,000 calories before your brain has a chance to catch up with your belly. So, I like to say the best way to prevent overeating is to balance your meals throughout the day eating every few hours. Load your calories early in the morning with a big breakfast and do not keep a candy dish on your desk at work.
