New Yorkers got another soccer related treat on Tuesday as stars Michael Owen and Thierry Henry stopped by at the Empire State Building to switch on the lights. The famous landmark was illuminated in the colors of Major League Soccer and Manchester United. The Players will face each other this evening in a game at New Jersey’s Red Bull Arena.

Manchester United star Michael Owen and New York Bulls forward Thierry Henry bring their respective colors to the Empire State Building.

In a ceremony marking the Major League All-Stars verses Manchester United game, Henry and Owen flip the switch that lights up New York’s tallest building.The empire state building will tout both teams’ colors in a display of white, green, blue and red.

Thierry Henry was born outside Paris and started his career with the encouragement of his father. He attended a soccer Academy and at age sixteen signed a contract with French Team Monaco. Henry has since played in four world cups and has collected numerous personal and collective titles.

English star Michael Owen started his career in Liverpool in 1996. He rose to fame when he became the England national team’s youngest scorer, and showed his skill in the 1998 World Cup.

The flags of Manchester United and MLS All-Stars will come together again later this evening in New Jersey--- this time in a more competitive atmosphere.
