    -SHANGHAI (AP) — Defending champion and world record holder Federica Pellegrini of Italy moved from fifth place to first on one lap and held on to win the women's 400-meter freestyle gold at the world championships.
    -Pellegrini, who turned it on after the halfway mark, finished in a time of 4 minutes, 01.97 seconds Sunday.
    Olympic champion Rebecca Addlington showed why she's a strong favorite for gold next year at her home London Games by taking silver with a time of 4:04.01. Camille Muffat of France earned the bronze in a time of 4:04.06.
    -Pellegrini was well off her world mark of 3:59.15 set at the worlds in Rome in 2009 before high-tech bodysuits were banned.
