With the end of compulsory military service in Germany comes the start of a new era for those with dual citizenship. These young men, who have always called Germany home, could now be called to serve in their parent's homeland.Young men with joint Turkish, Greek and Russian nationality could be affected. Until now, dual nationals served their mandatory military service in the German Bundeswehr, which precluded them from having to serve anywhere else. With this mandatory service now disbanded, the ruling is defunct. Many dual nationals will face some tough prospects ahead: both the Turkish and Russian armies are infamous for their tough drills.
