Which Pains Should Not be Ignored While Running - part of the women's fitness video series by GeoBeats. Which Pains Should Not be Ignored While Running When you’re running, sure, sometimes you’re going to feel some discomfort. There’s a difference between muscular use and muscular abuse. So you have to learn to understand your body and know how your body is feeling. When you feel muscle use, it’s soreness. You know, it’s something that your muscles might feel kind of achy for two to three days, and then it goes away. That’s muscle use. You’re training your muscles to get stronger. When you have pains that are much sharper or feel like compression, or feel like stabbing kind of pains, and it lasts more than three days, that’s no longer just soreness, typical soreness that you’re going to have from using your muscles. That could be a sign of an injury. And if it lasts up to a week or longer, and it progressively gets worse, that’s something you should check out either with a doctor, or possibly even a physical therapist, or someone, a professional to make sure that it’s not more serious, because it is possible to do damage to your muscles if you keep running on injured muscles.
