PKG The incident occurred on the outskirts of the capital Dhaka on Tuesday. More than 50 others are also injured. Officials say the fire broke out on the ninth floor of the 10-storey factory building, trapping dozens of workers. The fire burned for nearly three hours before being brought under control. The cause is still unknown. The government has already launched a probe into the blaze. Bangladesh has about 4,000 garment factories that export more than 10 billion U.S. dollars worth of products a year, mainly to the United States and Europe. But with inadequate safety standards, fires are common in these factories. In February, a fire at a sweater factory just outside Dhaka killed 21 people and injured dozens.
