France sizzles under the summer sun as temperatures push towards 104 degrees Fahrenheit in the center of the country and the southwest. Some made the most of the warm weather by doing some sunbathing.

France sweltered under the summer sun on Monday as a small heat wave across the center and southwest of the country threatened to push temperatures to within a whisker of 104 degrees Fahrenheit.

Temperatures in Paris were in the mid 80s and weather agency Meteo France warned they could reach 102 degrees in the center of the country as a front of warm air from southern Europe pushed northwards.

The heat brought adults and children out into the parks where they took advantage of fountains and open spaces to snatch a little tanning time.

[Sunbather]:
"I bring fruit, water, and something to protect my skin. I've just put sunscreen on. But I don't stay out here all day. I only come for a few hours only."

Another sunbather felt the weather was super and the place was more alive than normally.

Although hot, the temperatures were not expected to last long as the unseasonal hot weather was due to give way to cooler air arriving from the west.
