And continuing coverage of flooding in the Mainland now. Although rainstorms have eased along China's Yangtze River, the previously drought-hit provinces of Henan and Shandong in central and east China are now taking a pounding, causing flooding in several areas.
Heavy rainfalls over the last few days have drenched the previously drought-hit provinces of Henan and Shandong in central and east China, as rainstorms along the Yangtze River eased.
Three hours of heavy rain on Wednesday night pounded 13 regions in Nan Yang City, Henan Province, dumping almost two inches of rain in some areas.
Although the rain has eased off, several parts of the city were flooded, causing problems for many drivers trying to navigate through the water.
Rainstorms also hit Zi Bo and other cities in Shandong Province, with an inch and a half of rain in some areas on Wednesday night. The heavy rains have broken the drought in the area and should benefit local farmers.
