I have had many clients ask me whether they should include silk flowers in their design. Personally, I love fresh flowers and can't imagine a reason why I would ever choose silk. However, over the last 20 years I have seen situations where silk flowers are essential.

If you can decorate an archway with silk flowers above your head so that you can't touch them and don't really have the ability to know if they are fresh or silk, it might not be a bad idea simply because fresh flowers will never make it through the course of the ceremony.

With regard to flowers in peoples' hair, your head is the hottest part of your body and if you are going to wear fresh flowers ion your hair, you will wind up changing those flowers 2 or 3 times during the course of the evening. Whereas a beautiful silk flower on a comb might last all night and go beautifully with your dress.
