PKG Witnesses reported heavy gunfire on Sunday near the presidential palace.The army launched an assault on the palace in Carthage, north of the capital Tunis. It comes after Ali Seriati, the ex-head of presidential security was arrested and ccused of threatening state security by provoking violence. Security forces shot two gunmen and exchanged fire with some other gunmen near the headquarters of the main opposition party, the PDP. Prime Minister Mohamed Ghannouchi said on state television that the creation of the new government will be announced on Monday. It'll help the country enter a new stage, Ghannouchi said in a statement Tunisia has been in a state of disarray since Ben Ali's downfall.
