Monday, the Ministry of Railways said a total of 618 people had been detained by police across the country, with 160 of them being detained by Beijing railway police. The Ministry says that they have deployed computer experts to collect, classify and analyze online ticket scalping information. In addition, various websites have been urged to post anti-scalping slogans in conspicuous positions on webpages. Some 230 million passenger trips will be taken by train, up about 12.5 percent from last year.
