Two decades ago, the German parliament, the Bundestag, voted to make Berlin the German capital, putting the final touches to German reunification. The former West German capital, Bonn, became a Federal City“, and Berlin became the new capital and seat of government. Since then, Germany has mainly been led from Berlin.
