Overview:
An anti-American Shiite militia literally took over the city of Amarah, Iraq and blew up the 3 main police stations there. There's now a temporary truce and the Iraqi Army has taken back the city after negotians. But the locals there say the militia has had free reign ever since August 2006 when the British troops handed it over to the Iraqi Army.
Also violence elsewhere in the country - the Sunni insurgency from out of Ramadi, Iraq.

Independent Commission may recommend to split up Iraq into Sunni, Shiite, and Kurdish Regions. And the Baker-Panel report (about handing over Iraq to IRAN & SYRIA ) will not come out until after the mid-term elections. (BTW, both suggestions are BAD ideas!)

Iran's President threatens Israel and its allies at a Pro-Palestininan rally held in Tehran. He warned Europe that it would "Get hurt" if it continued to back the Jewish state, and saying "It is the responsibility of the US and Europe to distance themselves from Israel" That "Israel no longer had any reason to exist and would soon disappear."
