Miss Indonesia 2011 was crowned over the weekend. The title went to a a woman from East Java Province, who beat out over 33 other contestants from across the country. Let's find out more.

Astrid Ellena Indriana Yunadi, better known as Ellen, was crowned Miss Indonesia 2011 on Friday (June 3) in Jakarta's Central Park Ballroom.

Ellen, who represents East Java Province, beat out 33 finalists from across Indonesia. She was crowned by last year's Miss World, Alexandria Mills, and Miss Indonesia 2010, Asyifa Latief.

The new winner expressed her surprise at winning, especially because she felt that she wasn't in top form.

"It's incredible, especially as I was a little unwell, I couldn't participate in some activities because my eyes were sore, but now I can stand here, I really do not believe it, but am very grateful."

Ellen's winnings include a new car, 25 million rupiah in money prize, jewelry and various other prizes from the competition's sponsors.

Ellen turns 21 this week and is currently studying international relations at the University of Pelita Harapan. In 2009 she won the university's beauty pageant and was crowned Miss UPH. Ellen spent several years in the United States and speaks English, Spanish and Mandarin.

In an interview before she was crowned, Ellen talked about what she'd do if she was crowned Miss Indonesia 2011.

"For sure I want to dedicate myself to helping others. I want to be a blessing for others."

Ellen will travel to London in November to represent Indonesia at the Miss World 2011 pageant. This will be the 60th Miss World pageant and about 120 countries will be represented.
