In the build up to the Aviva Premiership final, between Leicester Tigers and Saracens, former England rugby union captain and world cup winner Martin Corry, gives his view on the teams and the key battles in a repeat of the 2010 final. Corry has also been lending his help and support to a new five week programme - ‘Tackling Numbers’ - which will use rugby union as method to improve the maths and numeracy skills of thousands of Year 4 schoolchildren in England, by bringing maths to life in a practical and enjoyable way.
The initiative, jointly run by the Aviva Premiership Rugby Union clubs and Europe’s largest credit card provider, MBNA, started last autumn and by 2013 will have been taken up by over 800 schools in England. So far 6420children at 214 schools have taken part in the scheme.
