STORY: PARISIANS ESCAPE WWII BOMB
DATELINE: Feb. 7, 2011
Six and a half thousand Parisians have been evacuated from a suburb where a World War Two bomb was spotted on a construction site.
The 500kg bomb was discovered on Jan. 27 in Paris' western Boulogne-Billancourt suburb, where a Renault car factory once stood.
The factory used to make vehicles for German forces during the war.
Authorities on Sunday ordered to disperse nearby residents to diffuse the bomb, although it was not categorized as dangerous.
The residents were able to return to their homes shortly after.
