In Karachi, Pakistan the Saudi Arabian consulate has been attacked. Two hand grenades were thrown at the compound, though no one was hurt. Here's more.

Unidentified attackers threw two hand grenades at the Saudi Arabian consulate in the Pakistani city of Karachi on Wednesday. No one was injured.

According to a police official, one grenade landed inside the compound, and one landed outside... the attackers then fled.

A government minister says an investigation into the incident was underway.

[Rauf Siddiqui, Provincial Minister]:
"The officials from law enforcement agencies are here. They are investigating the matter. They have told me that two crackers were thrown. Thank God no one was hurt."

Although there is no clear connection... Al Qaeda is opposed to the Saudi government and has vowed revenge for the killing of its leader, Saudi-born Osama bin Laden, by U.S. Special Forces in Pakistan earlier this month.
