With the Holocaust in the background, relations between Germany and Israel will probably never be completely normal. And for that very reason, many feel that youth exchange programs between the two countries are extremely important. The German Flick Foundation has been supporting one such program for 10 years now. During the exchange, the young people talk extensively, they create art together and also visit a former prison that was once run by the East German Communist secret police. But relations between young people from Israel and Germany are still problematic.
