South Korea blasted North Korea's decision to seek alternative operators for the joint tourism venture at Mount Geumgang. The South Korean company Hyundai Asan, developed the holiday resort just inside North Korea in 1998. After a South Korean tourist was killed in 2008 while wandering into a military area, South Korea suspended the tours, demanding an apology and safety assurances. With none forthcoming, North Korea has now decided to seek other operators, drawing Seoul's protest.
