And now we go to Dubai, where a Japanese horse has won the richest horse race in the world -- the 10 million dollar Dubai World Cup. Here's more from our correspondents.

A Japanese horse, Victoire Pisa, has clinched the top spot in the 10 million dollar Dubai World Cup on Saturday.

With Italian Marco Demuro in the saddle, the horse galloped to victory at the Meydan Racecourse in Dubai in what is hands-down the world's richest horse race.

[Dr. Thomas M. Tribolet, DRC Representative -South America]:
"Truly the most international horse racing in the world. Every major racing country has representatives here and it brings the people and the great race horses all in one. The most fabulous racing place, maybe on the globe."

But for the Japanese team it was a bittersweet victory -- the victims of the March 11th earthquake and tsunami obviously not far from their minds. They all wore shirts with the Japanese national flag and the word "Hope" on the sleeve and back.

Contenders in the invite-only Dubai World Cup are flown in from all corners of the world and give the event a unique international flavor.

[Ciaran Kennelly, International Racing Consultant]:
"This is the 15th year and it's got better and better every year. The race track has to be seen to be believed and the horses that are coming to this race come from all over the world. And it's one of the very few opportunities where horses from Australia, America, Europe, South Africa and some of the other Asian regions can come and compete in international events."

The eight-race card that makes up the entire Dubai World Cup event is now worth an astounding twenty six million dollars.
