STORY: KENYA TRIBES CONFLICT DATELINE: March 30, 2011 LENGTH: 0:00:42 LOCATION: Nairobi VO The Kenyan Red Cross has stepped in to help displaced Samburu and Turkana communities in the country's west, after a series of attacks by more than six hundred cattle rustlers early this week. Three people were killed by the raiders during the armed attacks, and four others were killed when trying to rescue their stolen cattle. The Red Cross has provided food and medicine to thousands of people. The residents want the Kenyan government to send police troops to the remote areas to help them get back their stolen livestock and to bring about security. Pokot, Samburu and Turkana are the three leading communities in dry parts of Kenya, which are home to tribes that have long been fighting over pastures and water.
