Ingredients- For Tuvar dal: 1 cup tuvar dal soaked 4 tsp peanuts 1 cup water 1/2 tsp turmeric powder 1 1/2 tsp coriander powder 11/2 tsp cumin powder 2 tbsp oil 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1/2 tsp red chilli powder 2 pods cloves 1 tbsp jaggery A pinch of asafetida 2 pieces cinnamon sticks 5-6 curry leaves 1 cup water Tamarind pulp Salt to taste Preparation- Pressure cook the dal with peanuts and turmeric powder. Heat the oil. In half cup water mix red chilli powder,cumin powder,coriander powder and turmeric powder. To the oil add asafetida,mustard seeds,cloves,cinnamon sticks and the already prepared dry spices mixture. Add the dal and mix well. Add water,salt,tamarind pulp,jaggery and mix well. Garnish with coriander leaves.
