The State Administration of Cultural Heritage said more porcelain artifacts are expected to be discovered from the cabin of the Nanhai Number 1. The ship was salvaged in 2007 from the South China Sea near the city of Yangjiang in south China's Guangdong province. It is permanently housed in the city's purpose-built Crystal Palace at the museum. The first exploration was completed in September 2009. Archaeologists recovered more than 200 precious porcelain artifacts from the middle cabin at that time. Now another exploration will be carried out. Research results show that the ship was built during the Song Dynasty (A.D.960-A.D.1279).
