Ice Cube On No Country For Young Men And New Generation Of Rappers

Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili and April Bombai talk to Ice Cube on the set of his new music video. In this segment Cube talks about the inspiration for a track on his new album "I AM The West" called "No Country For Young Men". He states that he heard some rappers want him to step aside and let the younger generation take over. He said that he doesn't mind the younger generation taking over but they have to be doing better music than him and if not, you aint ready yet. Nick asks Cube if it is a response to a Mixtape that was rumored to come out called "No Country For Young Men." The rumor was the Bishop Lamont, Glasses Malone and Crooked I were working on it. Cube states in this interview that he is not talking to anyone in particular with his new song but if anyone has a problem with it he will be happy to address it.When April Bombai asks Cube about who he would pass the torch down to from the new generation of Emcees Cube responds that he is not trying to do that and that they are going to have to take the torch from his cold hands. Cube adds that when he came into the game hip hop was in a good place now look at where it is.
