Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton, who is rumoured to be designing Kate Middleton's wedding dress, has unveiled her latest collection in Paris.

The mix of dresses, structured bodices and long skirts were reminiscent of traditional wedding dresses but featured modern details.

The pieces were also heavily textured and included feather and lace features on collars and hemlines.

It is reported that Sarah Burton was recommended to Kate after aides at Buckingham Palace approached UK Vogue editor, Alexandra Shulman, for advice and she recommended the McQueen designer.

"I think Sarah would do a really wonderful wedding dress. I think the house could create something really exceptional," the fashion expert said at Paris Fashion Week.

Burton took the helm at McQueen after Alexander McQueen committed suicide in 2010.

The fashion house already has a connection with the Royal Family, having designed a wedding dress for the Duchess of Cornwall's daughter-in-law, Sara, who married Tom Parker Bowles in 2005.
