Arrest over Charles and Camilla attack

Police have arrested a 34-year-old male on suspicion of attacking Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall amidst student protests last December.

The Prince's convoy was mobbed whilst driving down Regent Street in London's West End.

The man has been held on suspicion of violent disorder and criminal damage.

Demonstrators turned on the Rolls Royce carrying the Royals, who were travelling to the Royal Variety performance, after splitting away from the main protest against higher university tuition fees.

Meanwhile, police have also charged another eight people over an earlier student protest which led to the storming of the Conservative Party headquarters in Millbank.
