Lindsay Lohan has been given two weeks to decide what she wants to do in her jewellery theft case.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Keith L. Schwartz told her if she pleads guilty she will be jailed.
"This case does involve jail time. Period.
"If you plead in front of me, if this case is resolved in front of me, you are going to jail," he told the actress.
Lohan, 24, is accused of walking into a posh LA jewellers and walking out with a £1500 necklace.
Both her mum and dad, Dina and Michael Lohan, accompanied her to court.
Her father spoke after the hearing, insisting his daughter was on the right track after her DUI incident and subsequent stay in rehab.
"She does the right thing, she goes to AA all the time. I check up on her by going to dinner. She's always clear eyed and very focused," Lohan said.
Lindsay is due back in court on March 10.
