    Skiing Championship Held in Northern India

    Skiers from across India participate in an Alpine Skiing competition in India's Himachal Pradesh state. Hundreds of spectators gathered to watch the junior championships Thursday.

    The Alpine Skiing competition is being held along the snowy slopes of Solang Nala in India's Himachal Pradesh state.

    Skiers from across India gathered for the second day of competition on Thursday.

    Students between the ages of 11 and 18 were seen enthusiastically participating in the giant Slalom Junior competition. Boys and girls competed in different categories.

    [Sehaj Gulati, Participant]:
    "I participated in the Giant slalom and this is my first time participation. And it was a great experience."

    [Elbin Kanwar, Participant]:
    "The competition was joyous, I loved it."

    Hundreds of spectators came to see the junior competition on Thursday.

    But due to a heavy snowstorm in Solang Nala, the senior categories of Giant Slalom and snowboard competitions were postponed until Friday.

    There were about 170 players representing 24 winter sports clubs.

    The three-day-long competition ends on Friday.
