A remote controlled bomb exploded at a security checkpoint near the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar on Tuesday. At least one police officer was killed and three others were wounded.
The three injured policemen were sent to a local hospital for treatment.
Militants linked to al Qaeda and the Taliban have carried out several attacks in Peshawar.
They have killed many police officials, as well as senior security officers spearheading operations against their bases in the region.
