Anne Hathaway has walked a blue carpet in Hollywood to celebrate her upcoming animated movie, Rio.
Rio is the story of Blu, a rare macaw who travels with his owner to Rio de Janeiro in order to meet his female counterpart, Jewel. However, Blu's status as the only male macaw left makes him the perfect target for thieves and takes him on an unexpected adventure.
Anne voices Jewel and is philosophical about her first role as a bird.
"I think so much of the movie is about finding your heartbeat and that freedom and confidence that you get that allows you to, metaphorically, and actually, fly," the actress said.
Rio is directed by Rio de Janeiro native Carlos Saldanha, who is behind the three Ice Age films.
He hopes his animated rendition of the city lives up to audiences' expectation and said: "I hope that people come see the film, that they feel good and happy and at home seeing this film".
Alongside Anne Hathaway, Jamie Foxx, Jesse Eisenberg and Will.i.am also lend their voices to this new animation.
Rio hits UK cinemas on April 8.
