Qantas Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Bangkok

Yet another incident on a Qantas plane to tell you about today. A Sydney-bound flight has made an emergency landing in Bangkok. Passengers say the pilot told them there were engine troubles.
A Qantas Airways Boeing 747 plane was forced to turn back to Bangkok and make an emergency landing.
An air traffic controller in Bangkok said the pilot sent a message to request landing in Bangkok, citing "technical problems."
A Qantas spokeswoman says it's unclear what caused the problem.
There were no reports of any injuries or causalities.
One passenger said the plane was in the air for around 40 minutes before passengers knew there was a problem.
[Christine Cuffs, Passenger]:
"We were told by an announcement over the intercom to tell us that there was a problem with the engines and that we would be returning back to Bangkok and if we had looked out to the window, you could see that they were jettisoning fuel."
Another passenger said he was advised to leave the plane due to a failed engine.
[Keith Leigh, Passenger]:
"We were told that there was the problem with one of the engines on the left hand side of the plane. So the plane turned round, discharged the fuel, circled around Bangkok and eventually landed. Then we sat on the runway for half an hour or so and we were told to get off the plane."
A mid-air engine explosion in a Qantas A380 last year grounded Qantas' fleet of the super jumbos and shook confidence in the carrier.
